As It Is Unveils New Version of “Dial Tones” Featuring Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence.

As Is Releases Updated Track

As Is has unveiled a new version of their song “Dial Tones”, featuring Lucas Woodland from Absence Retention. This refreshed rendition, titled “Set X Tunes”, commemorates the tenth anniversary of the original track, which was the first single from their debut album, “Never Happy, Never After.”

Collaboration and Transformation

The newly reformed lineup—comprised of singer Patty Walters, guitarist/vocalist Ben Biss, bassist Ali Dough, and drummer Patrick Foley—approached the track with a fresh perspective.

“This group has always aimed for evolution, never repeating ourselves. As our discography has evolved, many fans have been surprised that the band that produced Dial Tones also created The Great Depression—so this is Dial Tones from the creators of The Great Depression,” As It Is stated.

“When we first launched Dial Tones in January 2015, we were just a young band; we embarked on a few small tours and never anticipated this song would define our trajectory. The idea that people would still care about our group a decade later felt like a distant dream, but here we are,” they reflected.

“We’ve always embraced collaboration; it’s a norm in pop and hip-hop that hasn’t been as prominent in the alternative scene. So, we not only re-recorded the track from the ground up, but we also wanted to feature a special guest. We immediately thought of Lucas Woodland for this song, so we reached out to him,” the band shared.

Woodland remarked: “I’m honored to be part of the new version of Dial Tones by As It Is, a band that holds great significance for me. They took us on one of the most pivotal tours of our careers, and we’ve admired them ever since. They’ve always been supportive, and I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to collaborate on this track. I believe our fans will truly enjoy it!”
