Anita Dobson Provides Health Update Following Husband Brian May’s Stroke

Latest Update on Brian May’s Health

Anita Dobson has shared an update regarding the health of her husband, Brian May, who experienced a minor stroke last year.

Brian May’s Recovery Journey

In September, the Queen guitarist informed fans about the minor stroke he had, explaining that it occurred “suddenly, out of the blue,” leaving him with limited control over one of his arms. He described the situation as “a bit scary” but expressed gratitude for the “fantastic” medical care he received.

Throughout my recovery, EastEnders actor Dobson kept fans informed. Late last year, she announced that, despite the challenges, he was regaining use of the affected arm.

“He’s ready to go now,” she mentioned then. “He plays the piano quite a lot at home. He really enjoys Beethoven. Having a piano in the house is truly relaxing.”

The latest information shared in an interview with the Sun indicates reassurance as the 75-year-old remarks that her husband is “stable.”

“The beginning of the year had its ups and downs,” she noted. “We were both sick with the flu while our children were taken to Lapland. 15 of them.”

“Brian is now stable,” she added, highlighting that he has “never been happier” since their move to the village. She shared that long-time animal rights activist May “loves birds and animals,” often spending his time feeding “birds, badgers, foxes, and pheasants.”

Doctor Who actress Dobson also mentioned that they are “taking each day as it comes,” stating, “It makes you realize that at any moment it could be you. You don’t have to be old; it can happen to anyone.”

“You may think you’re fit, seeing people running marathons, and then at a young age, some quit. You must live each day as if it were your last. It’s not easy to do. You forget and think you have more time; everything gets busy, and you have to realize that life is precious. Life can change so quickly, and we are all on a thin thread, if you will.”

This is not the first time May has made headlines regarding his health. In 2020, the guitarist was hospitalized following a heart attack caused by artery disease. He recounted to fans that he was “on the brink of death” after doctors discovered three blocked arteries.

Recently, May also explained the reasons for updating his guitar parts on Queen’s debut album for the new reissue.

Queen completed a series of tours with Adam Lambert in February last year and currently have no scheduled live shows. Meanwhile, Queen Extravaganza, the official Queen tribute band, is set to tour the UK and Ireland in 2025, with concerts dedicated to the 50th anniversary of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
