New Single Release
Marigold has unveiled a new single titled “Bound in Leather”, serving as the final preview of their upcoming album “A Million Knives”, set for release under the Easy Eye Sound label.
About the Band and the Track
The Colorado trio, featuring frontman Demi Demitro and dual drummers Baby Pottersmith and Johnny Fig performing on a combined kit, has crafted a track that merges vintage disco rhythms with their distinctive rock sound.
“For me, ‘Bound In Leather’ is like looking through a kaleidoscope,” explains Demitro. “It’s a song about feeling attached to your skin, and the chorus is partly inspired by a type of dysphoria. Feeling trapped in your own skin and wishing you weren’t bound by its limitations here on earth. It also encompasses themes of feeling secure and needing someone to prove their trust to you because they won’t be able to earn it that easily.”
The track was created in collaboration with Greg Cartwright and Dan Auerbach in Nashville. “When we started crafting the lyrics, I sang while Dan encouraged me to sing higher and higher. I usually don’t sing in falsetto, but I felt it fit this song perfectly,” adds Demitro.
The thirteen-track album follows their debut release, Nightmare Daydream, from 2021, which included support for Smashing Pumpkins and Guns N’ Roses. Previous singles from the new album are “On and On”, “Suck The Cherry”, and “Go Fly Away”.
