Jason Derulo opened up about breaking his neck and said the injury left him fearing for his life.

Details Of The Incident

The singer recently appeared as a guest on Great Company Podcast and discussed the neck injury he suffered back in 2013 while getting more dance practice during his Future History World Tour, which was ultimately cancelled. Derulo fell on his head and broke a vertebra.

“I was preparing for the tour and working on my back braces for endurance. So we do it in a row, we stop for a while, take a break, and we do about 20, in a row, and I slipped on one and jumped out,” he told host Jamie Lang.

He continued: “You should never jump out, even if you slip, you should keep going. I jumped out (and) fell on my head and heard a crash and just thought, ‘Oh crap!’”

Derulo described the sensation he felt after the fall and said, “I felt a lot of heat in my neck and I just thought, ‘Damn, what just happened? Did my life just end?”

The mother then rushed the “In My Head” hitmaker to the emergency room and revealed she didn’t want to worry him. “I’m sitting in the passenger seat and every blow that happens (to my mom) is like hell on earth, I’ve never felt so many blows in my life,” he recalled.

Elsewhere, Derulo previously received gifts from animal rights organization PETA after announcing he was canceling his appearance at SeaWorld last year.

Back in 2023, the singer was accused of signing a recording contract with another singer and expecting sex in a harassment lawsuit.
