New Music Video Release
Julien Baker and TORRES have unveiled a new video for their debut single “Sugar in the Tank.”
Collaboration With Stud Country
The visual artist and director Katie Arthur created this project in partnership with the queer country dance party Stud Country, showcasing original choreography by one of the party’s co-founders, Sean Monaghan, alongside members of the tribal country community.
“We are thrilled that the Stud Country crew joined us for this fun line dance! All the dancers were incredibly talented and patient as we learned the moves. Finding a space and community to engage in cowboy activities here in New York is especially meaningful to us,” say BAKER and TORRES.
Monaghan adds, “It was amazing to involve members of our community, including Geo (Jedlicka), who has been dancing in NYC for three decades. The fact that renowned artists like JULIEN and TORRES want to collaborate with us during this era of country music revival is truly wonderful.”
Regular at Stud Country and DJ, Jae Cripe, shares, “As a trans person from the South, reconnecting with that side of me in a welcoming environment has been incredibly helpful, especially surrounded by such a vibrant and enjoyable community.”
The single premiered following their performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
