New Single Release
Barty Strange has unveiled a new single “Wants needs,” taken from his forthcoming album 'Horror'. The album is set to be released on February 14th under the 4AD label.
Genre-Blending Track
The song exemplifies Strange's innovative blending of genres and marks the fourth single from the anticipated album, following “Too Much,” “Sober,” and “Lie 95.”
“I realized a couple of years ago that if the music was going to really be successful in the long run, I needed more fans,” Strange shares. “Of course, it's a game of timing and numbers, but race is also a powerful component. I don't see many people like me in the indie scene making a sustainable living from their records. I worry that people might find it difficult to connect with me since I don't look or sound like them. It’s nice to have support, but genuine backing is often lacking. This song reflects my feelings about these challenges—I understand that many of these struggles are largely of my own making.”
The album ‘Horror’ was initially crafted in Strange's home studio before collaborative sessions with Yves and Lawrence Rothman, culminating in a guest appearance by Jack Antonoff.
