David Schwimmer’s Unique Job
David Schwimmer shared that he once served divorce papers on Rod Stewart while the actor was juggling a temporary job during his university days.
In a recent interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Friends star reflected on his time as a waiter in Chicago, commenting on the “so much work to do” he had in his younger years.
“One summer after my freshman year of college, I was just looking for a job,” Schwimmer reminisced. “And my mom said, ‘Well, you can be a process server for me.’ My mom was a divorce lawyer.”
He elaborated, “So I was the guy who would jump out of the bushes and hand you divorce papers. I was 18 at the time, feeling like James Bond. I’m not James Bond! Because you were informed where they might be.”
Encounter with Rod Stewart
Schwimmer recounted serving a famous musician. “One day… thank God, I’ve never run into him since,” he told Colbert, “but I served Rod Stewart. I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.”
Colbert humorously responded, “Now he knows.”
Stewart separated from his first wife, American actress and former model Alana Stewart, in 1984 after five years of marriage. In 1990, he wed model Rachel Hunter, and their divorce was finalized in 2006.
The singer has been married to his current wife, model and presenter Penny Lancaster, since 2007.
Schwimmer also discussed filming Goosebumps: Disappearance with Colbert. You can view the full interview in the video above.
Meanwhile, Schwimmer’s former Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow recently disclosed that the six core members of the group met only once in 17 years following the conclusion of the beloved sitcom.
Rod Stewart’s Upcoming Performances
In other news, Rod Stewart is set to headline the esteemed Legend slot at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival this summer. Late last year, the legendary artist remarked that “it would cost him a fortune.”
“But I don’t care if it cost me $1 million (£789,440), I would do it,” he stated. “It’s a great honor. This is truly the greatest honor.”
Stewart previously confirmed he was finished with “large-scale world tours” but expressed he had “no desire to retire completely.”
It was later announced that Nile Rodgers and Chick would perform in the slot immediately after Stewart on the Pyramid Stage. Neil Young was also confirmed as the first headliner after he initially backed out of the festival.
