“Playing the Ryman is always fun, and this time we’re going country!” Starr stated through Hollywood Reporter. “(Producer) T Bone (Burnett) has put together a fantastic show. I’m truly excited to present my country-inspired songs and collaborate with this amazing group of musicians. It promises to be two nights filled with peace, love, and country music.”

Alongside White and Crowe, Starr will be joined by Brenda Lee, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Mickey Guyton, Sarah Jarosz, Jamey Johnson, Billy Strings, War and Treaty, Larkin Poe, and Molly Tuttle. Additional guest artists will be revealed later.

“No one in the world has generated more goodwill than Ringo Starr, and that’s no exaggeration,” Burnett remarked. “Ringo sang and played country music before he ever joined The Beatles, and many of his recordings with the group were country songs – including “Matchbox,” “Honey Don’t,” “Act Naturally,” “What Goes On?” and “Don’t Pass Me By,” not to mention “Octopus’s Garden” – a country song in its own right.

“We may not know which country style it will be, but it’s definitely a country song. Nashville is a city brimming with incredible musicians and a fantastic ensemble of local talents. An overwhelming majority of the outstanding musicians will accompany Ringo and the other artists.”
