Bruce Springsteen honored the memory of the late soul icon Sam Moore.

Moore, who was one half of the legendary soul duo Sam & Dave, passed away on Friday (Jan. 10) at the age of 89, due to complications from surgery recovery.

Alongside Dave Prater, Moore created some of the most iconic soul hits at Stax Records. Their 1965 single “You Don't Know Like I Know” initiated a remarkable streak of ten consecutive R&B Billboard hits in the top 20, including classics like “Wait! I’ll Come,” “When Something’s Wrong with My Baby,” “I Thank You,” and “Soul Man.”

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Springsteen expressed his sorrow: “We here on E Street are heartbroken to learn of the death of Sam Moore, one of America's greatest soul voices,” he shared on January 11.
