Director Bernard McMahon commented: “The cinematic power of IMAX, combined with the film’s authentic sound, creates an immersive viewing experience, allowing audiences to feel as though they are on stage with the band.”
Writer and producer Allison McGourty added, “We spent five years traveling across the Atlantic, searching for rare and unseen footage, photographs, and music recordings. Each piece was processed using special technology so that in IMAX format, these clips and music from 55 years ago appear as if they were created yesterday.”
“We are excited to partner with IMAX and Sony Pictures Classics to bring this film to the big screen for all audiences—especially Zeppelin fans, but also for all music lovers and anyone interested in an inspiring story paired with amazing music,” McGourty concluded.
A rough version of the documentary premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021 but has not been shown since.
In other Led Zeppelin news, Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, performed “Whole Lotta Love” with Billy Joel during his New Year’s Eve show in New York.
