A benefit concert has been announced for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.

The show, titled FireAid, has been described as “an evening of music and solidarity.” Billboard reports it will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on January 30th.

Proceeds from the concert will be directed towards rebuilding communities affected by the wildfires initiated on January 7, assisting displaced families, and enhancing fire prevention technology to better equip the city for future emergencies.

The event is produced by Shelley, Irving, and the Azoff Family in collaboration with Live Nation and AEG Presents, although the lineup has yet to be revealed.

Impact of the Wildfires

Since the onset of the fires earlier this week, around 100,000 people have been evacuated, with more than 9,000 structures having been destroyed. This incident has already been marked as one of the most expensive natural disasters in U.S. history, with damages estimated at $57 billion (£46.6 billion), according to Los Angeles Times.

Among the homes damaged by the wildfires were those of comedian Billy Crystal, actors Cary Elwes, James Woods, and Mark Hamill. Paris Hilton’s residence was also destroyed, and she has begun fundraising efforts to assist displaced families.

Additionally, a fundraiser has been established for DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith after his home succumbed to the flames. As per a GoFundMe Campaign created by friend Lindsey Hartman, Smith and his family are safe, but their home was completely lost in the fire.

A variety of musicians and actors, including Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, have voiced their sorrow regarding the wildfires and have offered their support.
