Dani Filth Unveils Title and Release Date for New Cradle Of Filth Album—Featuring No Collaboration with Ed Sheeran

New Album Announcement

Dani Filth has revealed the title and release date for Cradle Of Filth’s upcoming album and confirmed that their collaboration with Ed Sheeran will not be included.

In an exclusive interview with Metal Hammer, the frontman of the extreme metal band disclosed that the new album, titled The Screaming of the Valkyries, is set for release in April. He also shared insights on what fans can expect sonically, suggesting that there will be nods to previous albums “Dusk… And Her Embrace” and “Midian.”

“It genuinely incorporates elements from all our past works.” According to Filth, the album features multiple references to “Midian” and “Dusk…”, particularly in its atmospheric and thematic components. He also praised the exceptional production quality, attributing it to Scott Atkins.

Details on the Album’s Structure

Nonetheless, Filth emphasized that the album will not be a concept album, stating that the challenge with concept albums lies in their restrictive nature. “You need to maintain a singular focus and cannot veer off course. So, it’s just an album without fillers like intros and outros. There are no guest appearances, just nine tracks,” he clarified.

The announcement regarding no guest appearances surprised many, considering Filth had previously mentioned the Cradle Of Filth and Ed Sheeran collaboration, which is now confirmed to be “completed.”

Discussing the Sheeran collaboration, Filth noted, “No, as we don’t want it to overshadow the album. However, we plan to unveil it. Although there were initial suggestions to announce it with great fanfare, Ed’s management did not approve.”
