Panda Bear Releases New Single
Panda Bear has unveiled his latest single “Ferry Lady” from the forthcoming album Sinister Grift – check out the Danny Perez-directed video below.
Upcoming Album and Collaborations
The track follows “Defense,” which was released in October, and will be featured on the album prior to its debut on February 28th. This mellow four-and-a-half-minute piece showcases singer-songwriter-instrumentalist Noah Lennox, immersing listeners in his distinctive psychedelia while offering delightful pop melodies.
Lennox is renowned as the co-founder of the experimental indie band Animal Collective, and he has released six solo albums to date. His latest release prior to this was 2022’s Reset, a collaboration with Sonic Boom, while Animal Collective’s most recent album is Isn’t It Now? released in 2023.
Sinister Grift marks his first solo venture in five years and is notable for being the first time he collaborated with all of his Animal Collective bandmates on a solo project.
Bandmate Josh “Deakin” Dibb worked alongside Lennox on this album and expressed his thoughts: “Making this record felt like a sacred and warm return. Noah and I first started recording music on multi-track tape in 1991. 32 years later, working in the same way, two friends alone in a room searching for the sounds and feelings that move us, I’m very proud of what we created together. “Sinister Grift” brings to mind a songwriter I’ve known for over 30 years, but also feels like a new chapter of sorts for Noah. Couldn’t be more proud of the result.”
Lennox will also be a “special guest” on Toro y Moi’s North American tour next month, leading into performances in Spain and Portugal in March. He will then return to North America with Toro y Moi before embarking on his own tour, which includes several dates in the UK and Ireland throughout May and June – find tickets here.
Additionally, he’s scheduled to perform at Jamie xx’s day at London’s new LIDO festival, sharing the stage with artists like Romy, Arca, and Sampha.
