Nicki Minaj Denies Assault Allegations
Nicki Minaj has responded to an assault lawsuit filed against her by a former employee, asserting that the allegations are “false and frivolous.”
A 10-page complaint was filed last Friday (January 3) in Los Angeles, with Minaj and her company Pink Personality named as the main defendants. The charges include assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

A former employee of Minaj claimed that she punched him in the face at a concert in Detroit, Michigan, last year.
Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, has categorically denied the allegations in a statement released Diversity.
“At this time, no complaints have been filed against Ms. Petty (Minaj’s married name), and therefore we are not aware of the specific allegations,” Bernstein told the publication. He further condemned the complaint report published TMZ.
“However, if the claim is as reported by TMZ, this is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the case brought by this former associate will be quickly resolved in Ms. Petty’s favor,” Bernstein added.
Details of the Allegation
According to Rolling Stone, plaintiff Brandon Jovan Garrett alleged that he was working for Minaj as a “day-to-day manager” when her head of security called him to a meeting in her dressing room at Little Caesars Arena on April 21, 2024.
Garrett claimed that Minaj was upset at the time and that her stress over her employees’ condition turned into “rage” after one employee used receiving her prescriptions as an example of his good work.
According to the lawsuit, Minaj was disappointed that Garrett had assigned the task to another employee. Garrett said he tried to reason with the artist and remind her that she wanted the recipe “immediately.” He claimed he had no choice but to delegate as he was busy helping Minaj with her pre-show quick change room.
Minaj then allegedly screamed at Garrett, “Are you crazy when he took my prescription? You’re crazy, and if my husband were here, he’d knock your damn teeth out. You are the walking dead. You just ruined your whole life and you’ll never be anything, I’ll make sure of that.”
Garrett further stated that Minaj “abruptly stood up, stomped her feet and aggressively walked” towards him while continuing to insult him. He claimed that she then “punched” him on the right side of his face.
This reportedly caused his head to “rock back and his hat to fly off,” and Minaj’s second alleged punch to his wrist knocked the documents out of his hands.
Garrett indicated that after the alleged attack, he fled and locked himself in the bathroom until 4 a.m. before reporting the incident to police and flying back to his native Los Angeles.
Minaj was away on her North American “Pink Friday 2” tour when the alleged incident occurred, in support of her fifth album of the same name.
