Billie Eilish’s single “Birds Of Feather” has become the most streamed song on Spotify in 2024.

The track, from her third album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” has accumulated 1,775,172,881 streams, surpassing Sabrina Carpenter’s massive hit “Espresso.”

Carpenter’s song fell short by 650,000 plays, garnering a total of 1,774,525,704 streams on the platform.

Eilish’s track climbed to number two on the Official Singles Chart in the UK and achieved the same rank on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

Recognition and Awards

Recently, it was recognized as the 12th best song of 2024 by the magazine NME. Her album “Hit Me Hard And Soft” also made NME‘s list of the best albums of 2024, securing the ninth position.

The hit has earned three Grammy Award nominations, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Conversely, Carpenter’s single topped the UK Singles Chart and received nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards, while “Bed Chem” was highlighted as one of the NME‘s 50 best songs of 2024.

Reflecting on her hit, Carpenter expressed that after its release, she felt uncertain about whether audiences would embrace it. “I remember deciding to release this song at the beginning of the summer and thinking that espresso, coffee, was more of a fall drink,” she shared. “I didn’t really know if it was going to work, but the vibe and the sound of the song and the confidence that it kind of just came with was something that I really believed in.”

She continued, “So I literally had no idea that anyone would like it, but I liked it and that was all that mattered to me at that moment and that’s what I try to remember over and over again.”

Eilish’s Tour and New Music

Meanwhile, Eilish recently concluded the U.S. segment of her “Hit Me Hard And Soft” tour, which included five performances at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

During one of her hometown shows, she invited Charli XCX as a special guest to perform their remix of “Guess,” which is nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Both artists are also contenders for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and more.

Additionally, Eilish teased her fans with snippets of two new songs during a recent interview, mentioning that she is “getting into music” again. She also used the opportunity to caution fans about the dangers of extreme diets.
