About the Track
Produced by Josh Scarbrough and co-written by Rose and Audrey Hobert, the song starts with a gentle, country-influenced guitar riff before morphing into a pop beat.
“Don’t act like you don’t know / There won’t be a first step until you take it / I’m so go with the flow, but / I’ll cut off my hands if you don’t take ‘Um,” Rose expresses, conveying her emotions about falling in love and her hope for the other person to take the initiative.
In a press release, songwriter Derby commented: “Start All Over” captures that moment when you begin to like someone, yet no one dares to act on it. It’s playful, irreverent, and insightful, but also tinged with heartache as you yearn for the other person to make the first move.”
