In response to a fan’s inquiry about why his song “Judge Judy” from his latest album “Chromakopia” was included in the list, Tyler shared: “Yes, I like the music I make, I’m confused about this issue.”
Later, Tyler provided an update on social media highlighting his best moments of the year, which included milestones like releasing his latest album, headlining Coachella 2024, collaborating with Louis Vuitton, and performing a Kendrick Lamar song.
The last mention was about his new release “That Guy,” which dropped on Christmas Day and featured a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now.” “Merry Christmas. It was fun,” he stated, including a link to the new music video directed by himself with cameos from Odd Future’s Jasper Dolphin, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and Lionel “L-Boy” Boyce.

Tyler also took the holiday season to commemorate the 15th anniversary of his 2009 debut studio album, “Bastard.” “Thank you to everyone who has listened to anything over the years,” he noted. “(He) was in a completely different zone musically and personally, but was determined to become the person I am today.”
In late October, the rapper released his seventh album, “Chromakopia,” which earned a three-star review from NME.
“There is beauty within the chaos of (the album)—the sensibility of ‘Hey Jane,’ the infectious hip-hop of ‘Thought I Was Dead,’ and the swelling cacophony of horns and percussion on ‘I Killed You.’ Yet, perhaps a less frenzied approach would have enriched the listening experience as a whole,” the review stated.
Tyler, The Creator wasn’t the only artist to unveil his top songs of 2024 last month. NME also released a significant list of the year’s best tracks in early December, featuring major songs including Tyler’s own “Sticky,” which featured GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne.
“Short, adrenaline-fueled verses are now the hallmark of the hyperstimulated game, and in ‘Sticky,’ Tyler excels,” the review added. “With catchy choruses, an all-star lineup of GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne join in freestyling at a cafeteria table; combine that with horns, a drum line, and a powerful bass line, resulting in an exciting and unpredictable banger.”
Other notable tracks featured include “Alone,” The Cure’s first single in 16 years, Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather,” Charlie XCX’s “365,” Fontaines DC’s “Starburster,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” and “Not Like Us” » Chappell Roan. Good luck, baby!
