Sammy Hagar’s Critique of Van Halen’s Memoir
Sammy Hagar, in his recent memoir, criticized Alex Van Halen for missing out on Van Halen’s “Van Hagar” era: Brothers.
Overview of the Memoir
Released in October, Brothers chronicles the first 12 years of the famed California band, concluding before the departure of lead singer David Lee Roth. The memoir does not address Hagar’s time in the group, his temporary lineup with Gary Cherone, or their eventual reunion with Roth.
Hagar, who led Van Halen twice from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2003 to 2005, took to social media to express his views on Brothers and his belief that his omission from the memoir is a “blasphemy.”
