New Year’s Fireworks and Music
As the clock struck midnight, central London lit up with lights, fireworks, and music, symbolizing both the significant trends and events of the past year and the hopeful aspirations for the year ahead.
This year featured a section where the London Eye, celebrating its 25th anniversary, was illuminated in the striking lime green that will characterize Brat’s 2024 album, Summer, accompanied by the sounds of the album track “Apple.” Additionally, the lyrics “London,” rendered in the album’s recognizable lowercase font, were projected onto the iconic wheel.

Looking Ahead to 2025
Other highlights from 2024 acknowledged during the celebrations include the Paris Summer Olympics, England’s journey to the Euro 2024 finals, and the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The soundtrack featured popular hits of the year, such as Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” along with older tracks that enjoyed a resurgence in 2024, like Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dance Floor.”
Reflecting on her phenomenal year, Charli recently shared her original 2023 “Brat” manifesto through a series of screenshots, detailing her goals for the album’s creation, production, and marketing leading up to its release.
Describing her vision for the album cover, she stated, “The cover for ‘Brat’ will be disgusting, arrogant, and bold. Some people will hate this. It will be heavily text-based: either type on a plain background, some painting on the wall, or an ignored object.”
The launch of Brat, her sixth studio album, marked an unprecedented rise in the pop singer’s fame, resulting in successful tours, including a collaboration with Troye Sivan.
Charli also has a busy schedule for 2025. In addition to headlining Primavera, she has been confirmed as Parklife’s first headliner for next year and will curate a day at London’s LIDO Festival, showcasing a spectacular performance.
Moreover, she will play two outdoor shows in Belfast and Dublin, perform at Coachella 2025, and has announced a US tour for April and May. Tickets for this event are still available for purchase. Here.
