Chrissie Hynde Calls Taylor Swift’s Live Performance One of Her “Highlights” of 2024.

Highlights of 2024

Chrissie Hynde has shared her 'highlights' of 2024.

The Pretenders frontwoman listed her favorite moments from this year, including Taylor Swift’s performance at London's Wembley Stadium during her summer Eras tour.

Referring to her favorite live performance, Hynde described the concert as “beautiful and inspiring.” She also highlighted the show by Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy at the Forum in the capital.

Additionally, she saluted Mark Lanegan, who performed at a tribute concert in London earlier this month alongside Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan, and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie.

Tributes and Cinema

The former Screaming Trees frontman, QOTSA collaborator, grunge icon, and solo pioneer passed away in February 2022 at the age of 57.

In another note, she commended the film Conclave, starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and John Lithgow.

She commented: “I've seen this in the cinema 3 times already. A great thriller. Definitely for the big screen. Breathtaking visuals and more.”

NME rated the film four stars, stating, “While Conclave is not a brutal destruction of an institution plagued by scandals this century, including the cover-up of sexual violence by priests, it acknowledges that the Church has much work to do in modernizing.”

“The result is a film that is both a carefully crafted thriller and a meditation on the Church’s place in modern society—more dependable than similar films like Two Popes (2019) and We Have a Pope (2011). Conclave is the perfect winter warmer.”

Recently, Hynde spoke out about her preference for fans purchasing tickets to multiple shows not to occupy front-row seats, allowing “local” fans a better chance to experience the performance up close.

This post sparked controversy among fans, who took to social media to argue that ticket holders should have the choice to watch the show from the front row.

In response, she emphasized her stance: “Another point that caused offense was my request for anyone who had attended multiple shows to step back from the front row, allowing locals to enjoy the view.”

She added: “We love seeing returning fans, but we travel globally to perform for new audiences each night, so it’s lovely to see locals in the front. Come as one… but be honest!”
