Yo La Tengo performed the fourth installment of a 10-night residency at the Bowery Ballroom during the annual Hanukkah celebration on Saturday night (December 28). During this event, the three original members of The Soft Boys collaborated for a set of songs spanning their illustrious career.
Frontman Robin Hitchcock was accompanied by guitarist Kimberly Rew and drummer Morris Windsor for a 13-song set, featuring classics such as “Underwater Moonlight” and “Kingdom Of Love.”
Following Yo La Tengo’s headlining performance, the two bands came together for an encore that included The Soft Boys’ tracks “Queen Of Eyes” and “I Wanna Destroy You,” alongside renditions of “Run Run Run” by The Velvet Underground and The Beatles. The audience was ecstatic, exclaiming, “It’s too much.”
