Highlights From The Performance

On Christmas Day, December 25, South Korean broadcaster SBS hosted its annual Gayo Daejeon festival, showcasing special performances by some of K-pop’s leading artists. This year, the iconic second-generation girl group 2NE1 took to the stage to deliver a powerful rendition of their most beloved tracks.

The performance commenced with the band singing the chorus of their 2014 hit “Come Back Home” backstage, followed by their debut single “Fire.” The energetic set continued as the crowd joined in for “I Don’t Care” and “Ugly,” culminating in a grand finale with “I Am The Best.”

Tour and Upcoming Releases

In July, YG Entertainment revealed that 2NE1 would reunite to celebrate their 15th anniversary, marking eight years since the group disbanded in late 2016. The quartet kicked off the Welcome Back World Tour with a three-day concert in Seoul in October.

Currently, the girl group is in the midst of the Asian leg of the tour, having recently completed a two-day show at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The tour will continue in January 2025 in Bangkok and will include performances in Kuala Lumpur, Taoyuan, Ho Chi Minh City, and Macau throughout February.

In related K-pop news, Jennie has shared new insights about her forthcoming solo debut album, describing it as a “buffet” with “a little bit of everything for everyone.” She is expected to become the third BLACKPINK member to release a solo album, following Rosé’s “rosie” earlier this month and Lisa’s upcoming February album, “Alter Ego.”
