Max George of The Wanted Released from Hospital Just in Time for Christmas

Max George leaves hospital

The Wanted’s Max George has been discharged from hospital after receiving a pacemaker.

Heart condition revelation

Earlier this month, George shared that he was hospitalized after tests indicated “issues” with his heart. He mentioned being admitted after “feeling really unwell” and undergoing various tests. Eventually, he discovered that he required surgery due to a heart attack.

The 36-year-old revealed he has a “2:1 block” in his heart, which means it beats slower or irregularly. Consequently, he required a pacemaker, a small battery-operated device usually placed in the chest or abdomen to regulate an irregular or slow heart rate.

Initially, he expected to spend Christmas in the hospital, but plans changed when he learned that surgery might occur sooner than anticipated.

George has now confirmed his discharge by Christmas after an 11-day hospital stay. However, he mentioned that he is not completely in the clear, as doctors have suggested further investigation for a possible issue with his lungs is necessary.
