Chung Ha Joins Forces with IOI Bandmates for Holiday Music Video “There Comes Santa Claus!”

Chung Ha has unveiled a touching music video for her latest holiday song, “There Comes Santa Claus!”, where she shares the screen with her former IOI bandmates.

Celebrating with Friends

On Christmas Eve (December 24), Chung Ha presented a delightful visual for her track “There Comes Santa Claus!” This song was initially released earlier this month as part of the single “Christmas Promises”, which was led by “Sleigh”.

In the charming new video, shot in a home video style, Chung Ha celebrates the festive season with friends, colleagues, and co-workers, enjoying hearty food, engaging conversations, and fun party games. Several of the singer’s former IOI bandmates, including Im Na Young, Kim Se Jung, and Jung Chae Young, make special cameo appearances.

“It never rains when it snows / Can you hear it ho-ho-ho? / Holding onto the reins in his big red coat / Don’t forget to leave the door open for tonight / ‘Cause the chimney’s getting a little tight / Hear the bells ring, Santa Claus is coming,” she sings in the chorus.

Reunion and New Releases

This marks the first public reunion of IOI members in four years. In May 2021, nine of the group’s eleven members, excluding Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong, gathered for a live broadcast to celebrate their fifth debut anniversary, with Zhou later joining them via video conference.

“Christmas Promises” is also Chung Ha’s third release since joining Jay Park’s More Vision label, following her August single “Algorithm.” Her first release with the label was her March single “Eenie Meenie,” which featured the B-side track “I’m Ready.” Earlier this month, NME recognized the latter as one of the 25 best K-pop songs of 2024.
