Happy Mondays Part Ways With Rowetta

Happy Mondays have confirmed their split from singer and percussionist Rowetta after an impressive 34 years together.

Statement on Departure

The singer and the band shared a statement on social media today (December 23) announcing Rowetta’s exit from the group. The post read, “Happy Mondays and Rowetta announce that Rowetta will no longer perform with the group.”

The message went on to say, “Happy Mondays thank Rowetta for her contributions and wish her all the best for the future.” Rowetta joined the band in 1990 and was part of the iconic single “Step On,” which reached number five on the charts. She also featured on their third and fourth studio albums, Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Belyaches and Yes Please!, and toured globally with the band three times.
