Recently, the line-up for the 2025 California festival was announced, with Lady Gaga set to headline alongside Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott.
This event signifies her second time leading the festival, having first headlined in 2017. Originally, Beyoncé was slated to headline that year, but she had to withdraw upon announcing her pregnancy with twins.
Anticipation for the 2025 Edition
As Gaga looks ahead to the 2025 Coachella, she reflected on her initial performance, noting that there were elements she wished she could have implemented differently, but time constraints hindered her.
“Well, for reasons completely beyond my control, there was a cancellation,” she stated in a recent interview with the publication Los Angeles Times, clarifying her earlier comments about wanting to return and do it right.
“I truly desired to connect with music fans, and at that time, there was so much hype about capturing clips from A Star is Born at Coachella. Unfortunately, I only had two weeks to prepare for the show,” she elaborated.
“Thus, crafting the scene and executing my vision was challenging as I lacked the necessary time,” she continued. “My love for music, performing, and connecting with music lovers is profound. Filming parts of our film there was a joy for me. I did it and loved every moment. However, there’s something special about having a vision in your mind for how you wish to carry something out—it’s time to realize that vision.
Gaga further shared her thoughts on music festivals and their impact on her upbringing.
“Music festivals have always been integral to my connection with the music community. I frequently attended Bonnaroo when I was younger,” she reminisced. “It’s a space where you can momentarily step away from everything. Being surrounded by everyone, immersed in music and light, I cannot think of anything that has influenced me as much in life as live music. It feels almost religious to me.”
