The Legendary New York Club Pyramid to Host Night Club 101, Brought to You by the Baby’s All Right Team

A new venue called Night Club 101 will open on the site of the iconic New York club Pyramid.

The new location, set to debut in the city’s East Village early next year, will be launched by the team behind Brooklyn staple Baby’s All Right. Named for its address at 101 Avenue A, the venue will feature events across various genres, including jazz, indie, and electronic music.

This venue will also host themed club nights, art exhibitions, and other performances. Pitchfork reports.

Billy Jones and Tom Moore, the duo behind Baby’s All Right, collaborated with the Knitting Factory to make this new space a reality.

“This space has so much history, and we are of course excited to honor its incredible legacy,” Jones shared in a press release. “But at the same time, we always want to move the conversation forward by creating a space that feels vibrant, surprising, and refreshingly open to the experimental play that makes New York New York and the reason I moved here 23 years ago.”

Legacy of the Pyramid Club

The Pyramid Club closed in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic but permanently shut down shortly after in 2021.

Opened in 1981, the Pyramid Club hosted early performances by Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nirvana, and was a notable venue where LGBTQIA+ icons like drag queen RuPaul made their stage debut.

In other New York-related news, Bleachers, Sabrina Carpenter, Remi Wolfe, and more surprised the audience at the 10th annual Ally Coalition talent show held in the city last night (Thursday, December 17).

Jack Antonoff hosted this star-studded fundraising concert for the Coalition of Allies, which he founded with his sister Rachel to support at-risk LGBTQ+ youth, at the NYU Skirball Center in New York City.
