This announcement comes shortly after the legendary metal band unveiled three one-off shows scheduled for the summer: a New Jersey concert with KoRn, a Chicago show with Avenged Sevenfold, and a Toronto performance with Deftones.

Following the immediate sell-out of presale tickets, Serj Tankian and the band promptly added more dates in each city.

New International Dates Revealed

Now, the Armenian-American metal legends have confirmed they’ll also be heading to South America with several planned dates. All new concerts will occur in the spring, starting with the premiere at Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campin in Bogotá, Colombia on April 24. Following that, the band will perform in Lima, Peru on April 27, and in Santiago, Chile on April 30.

The tour will proceed with four additional stops in the first half of May, starting with a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band will conclude their South American journey with three performances in Brazil.

“Wake up, South America! We did it. We heard you. Here we go,” System Of A Down announced on Instagram, along with a promotional poster for the tour. They have confirmed that tickets will be available starting Thursday (December 19) at 12:00 PM local time.

Pre-sale options will also be accessible starting tomorrow (December 17) at 10 AM local time. Get your tickets here and find the full list of dates below.

This announcement follows a series of hints from Serj Tankian and the band, teasing fans with a new revelation coming this weekend.

They shared a cryptic post featuring the phrase “WAKE UP!” from the fan-favorite 2001 track “Chop Suey!” There was also a link prompting fans to sign up for the newsletter.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the band intends to announce any new tour dates for 2025.

The band hasn’t released a new album since “Mezmerize” and “Hypnotize” in 2005. Metal Hammer reported that the frontman mentioned he “became very passive” during the writing and recording sessions for those albums.

Despite previous hesitations, the frontman recently expressed more optimism regarding the potential for new material, suggesting that any new System album would represent “a fresh start in a whole new way.”

Shavo Odadjian, however, indicated his uncertainty about these remarks, stating that while expectations for new music remain low, he still holds hope. “I don’t know what he means,” Odadjian said. “We’ve always evolved in our careers; every new direction surprises us. When we come together, we’ll determine how to proceed in a way that suits everyone.”

He further noted, “If that special moment occurs when we’re all aligned, we’ll find the way to create. I’m not saying it will definitely happen – I just hope that if it does, it’ll be a comfortable process for all of us.”

While the band hasn’t offered a complete album in nearly twenty years, they did release two singles in 2020, “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” to support Artsakh and Armenia amid conflict with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
