Special Appearance in Manchester

Macca brought his ‘Got Back’ tour to Co-Op Live in Manchester on Saturday (December 14), where he surprised the crowd by performing his 1979 single ‘Wonderful Christmastime’ for the first time in six years.

Accompanied by several children from the You Must Be Dancing Theater Academy, the song was performed live for the first time since three December concerts across England in 2018.

This is one of the few times Macca has performed the beloved song in his long and respected career. Before the 2018 concerts, he performed “Wonderful Christmastime” only in December 2016 at Today’s show, which is the only time he’s played it in the last decade.

“Wonderful Christmastime” was recorded for Paul McCartney’s second solo album, 1980’s McCartney II, but was released in November 1979 ahead of that year’s holiday season. It was McCartney’s first solo single in eight years since 1971’s “Eat At Home.”

However, it’s worth noting that none of these roles have been made public yet.

Mendes, known as the leader of 1917, Ghost, and Skyfall, previously said he expects to be working on four Beatles films until “sometime in mid-2028.” Information from Product List indicates that filming on the first film will begin in London in July 2025.
