UFO enthusiast and Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge commented on the nature of drones, noting that “these things can ‘mimic’ other aircraft.” He likened these recent sightings to the notable UFO incidents of the 1960s.

DeLonge’s Instagram Post

On Instagram, DeLonge shared an image of a historic government document related to UFOs, captioning it: “The drones in question can hover for six hours and then disappear as soon as they are spotted. That’s why it was challenging to gather information from any US agency. Some may even descend into the ocean before ascending back into the sky. This phenomenon is referred to as ‘transmedium travel.’ It is exceptionally challenging to execute.”

Guardian reports that the White House, Pentagon, Department of Homeland Security, and FBI confirmed that the observed drones are neither UFOs nor sent by a hostile foreign entity.

In additional Blink-182 news, the band has been confirmed as part of the When We Were Young 2025 lineup, alongside the Panic! At The Disco reunion, which will feature performances from Weezer, Avril Lavigne, The Offspring, Knocked Loose, and others.

This year, the pop-punk legends returned to the Reading and Leeds festival, where NME awarded their performance four stars in the review. It stated: “This set signifies the highly anticipated return of pop-punk pioneers, and with Blink-182’s show, it’s evident the members are committed to retaining the charm that has secured them headlining status.”
