Wrestling and Pearl Jam Fans Unite
Wrestling and Pearl Jam fans were united by Steven Flow’s entrance music.
Steven Flow’s Grunge-Inspired Performance
Last Sunday (December 8th), the grunge-inspired wrestler performed at Concord Music Hall in Chicago during the Superfighters: Unleashed event. He channeled ’90s Eddie Vedder with his long hair, two plaid shirts, and a guitar in hand.
Before facing his rival, Jordan Cross, he entered the ring to a parody of Pearl Jam’s “Even Flow,” featuring his name repeated throughout the track, much to the delight of fans.
Since footage of the moment surfaced on social media, viewers have praised the stunt and come up with their own puns. “Pro wrestling is not worthy of Eddie Vedder,” one fan joked on Reddit, while others on X/Twitter speculated about what to name his finisher.

In the match I saw online, he took one off and threw it into the crowd and then hit an elbow drop (like The Rock with an elbow pad).
I don’t think the commenters have mentioned this name, but I hope it’s called “Stevens El Flow”.

Putting on a flannel shirt and then tying another flannel shirt around your waist is such a cool move.

The Intersection of Music and Wrestling
Wrestling has a long history of intersecting with the world of music. Earlier this year, Chappelle Roane debuted a lucha libre-inspired costume on her Lollapalooza 2024 set, and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels brought out Kendrick Lamar and Drake to “settle” their feud in the ring.
Similarly, TNA wrestler Joe Hendry spoke with NME earlier this year about his theme song “I Believe In Joe Hendry,” which charted in the UK download and singles sales charts. In April, the Scottish athlete launched a social campaign to elevate his upbeat theme song to number one on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, hoping to “give Taylor Swift a break from the number one position.” His grassroots campaign went viral, resulting in “I Believe In Joe Hendry” topping the iTunes charts above stars like Swift, Hozier, Sabrina Carpenter, and Beyoncé.
The song also debuted at number four on the UK Singles Downloads Chart, marking it as the highest achievement for any wrestling song ever.
Elsewhere, Pearl Jam—who WWE star Becky Lynch noted as one of her favorite grunge bands—has announced US tour dates in 2025 to support their new album Dark Matter.
