Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawsuit

In October, Megan filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Milagro Gramz, claiming she disseminated deepfake pornography and spread falsehoods about the rapper’s relationship with Lanez. The lawsuit also accuses Gramz (real name Milagro Elizabeth Cooper) of “cyberstalking, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.”

Earlier this week, Megan’s attorneys from the law firm Quinn Emanuel provided updates on their lawsuit against Cooper. They stated that they procured calls from Lanez while he was incarcerated through a subpoena, demonstrating that the rapper (whose real name is Daystar Peterson) continues to coordinate a harassment campaign against Megan from behind bars.

In a court document uploaded by lawyer and entertainment reporter Megan Cuniff, Megan’s attorneys noted: “(Cooper’s) false statements regarding the Court are integral to a conspiratorial relationship with Peterson in which (Cooper) acts as a paid surrogate used to spread Peterson’s lies about (Megan).”

Megan’s lawyers further asserted that Lanez’s prison call logs show he frequently discussed (Cooper) with his father, and they both claimed that (Megan) could never establish that Peterson compensated (Cooper) for attacks on her.

Lawyers maintained that Cooper “knowingly coordinated with a convicted rapist (Megan)” to “reinforce (Lanez’s) debunked and unsubstantiated theories” and “assist him in seeking retribution against (Megan),” resulting in significant “emotional distress” for her.

Neither Lanez nor Gramz have responded to Megan’s updated complaint.

Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison last August for the July 2020 incident where Megan was shot in the leg while leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s residence.

He was convicted on all three charges against him: one count of assault with a semi-automatic firearm; one count of carrying a concealed, loaded, and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and one count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence. The rapper-singer has maintained his innocence while incarcerated and was granted the opportunity to appeal the verdict in July this year.

Megan recounted the incident in her new documentary, Megan, you are a stud: in her words, released in October on Amazon Prime Video.

In April of this year, Megan provided a “definitive” response to the incident, expressing the “humiliation” she endured from the public upon coming forward with her claims.

In other news, Megan collaborated with TWICE for the second time this year on the upbeat power pop track “Strategy.” The duo first joined forces on a remix of “Mamushi,” a viral hit from the rapper’s third album, Megan.

The album “Megan” secured 48th position in NME‘s list of the 50 Best Albums of 2024, while its second single, “Hiss,” was ranked 10th on the list of the 50 Best Songs of 2024.
