Rockstar Games shared a new trailer for GTA 6, giving fans a glimpse of Vice City and introducing the new main characters, Jason and Lucia.

The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was released back in 2023, featuring the soundtrack of “The Waiting” by Tom Petty. After the trailer debuted, the classic Petty track saw a remarkable spike on Spotify, with a reported increase in streams by 36,979 percent.

The second trailer was released earlier today (May 6), and this two-minute clip gives players a clearer insight into the relationship between the double protagonists, Jason Ducwell and Lucia Kamino. The trailer showcases elements such as romance, gunfights, and helicopter pursuits, all embodying that quintessential GTA essence.

What Song Plays in the Grand Theft Auto Trailer?

The majority of the trailer features the soundtrack from the 1986 hit “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits, originally from the album of the same name. This song was also featured in the 1987 sci-fi comedy caper Spaceballs and the film about friendship, Catcher.

What Other Music Is Featured in the GTA 6 Trailer?

Alongside Dire Straits, the trailer includes a brief segment featuring Jason as he collects money for his boss. During this ride, snippets of three different songs can be heard on the radio. They include:

Last week, Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be released this year. Instead, fans will need to wait until May 26, 2026, to experience the highly anticipated game. “With every game we release, our goal has always been to exceed your expectations, and GTA 6 is no exception,” the developers stated. “We hope you understand that we need this additional time to ensure the quality level you expect and deserve.”

However, many fans expressed frustration over the delay, especially after repeated assurances that the game would launch this year.

Back in 2023, Spotify collaborated with Grand Theft Auto to create an official playlist, although none of the new GTA 6 tracks are featured on it.
