Viral Trends and Personal Lists
Earlier this month (April 13), the AI-generated ranking of white rappers on Mount Rashmore went viral. This list featured Eminem, Mac Miller, Paul Wall, and Russ, prompting discussions among music lovers about who the four greatest white rappers are.
This post also sparked a trend on social media, with users sharing their own lists—not just limited to rap. Now, Ben Affleck and Bernthal, stars of Accountant 2, have shared their lists of the greatest rappers of all time.
Affleck and Bernthal’s Selections
During a recent chat with DIFFICULT, the two were asked to name four rappers they would place on their Mount Rashmore. Initially, Affleck contemplated whether to choose historical figures or modern artists. In the end, he landed on Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Slick Rick, and Kendrick Lamar, noting that while he was content with his choices, the list was purely spontaneous. He humorously remarked that this selection might not be the “greatest of all time.”
Bernthal’s list included Biggie, Tupac, Ice Cube, and Kendrick. They also discussed other influential rappers who might belong on such a list, such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A., and Gang Starr.

Affleck added that his son recently played him a song and asked if he had heard it. The song in question was Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up,” which elicited Affleck’s amused reaction: “Did I hear this? Bastard, who do you think I am?”
Machine Gun Kelly responded to the viral Mount Rashmore post earlier this month, claiming he deserved a spot: “Not being on white rapper Rashmore is blasphemy.” Although he has explored various genres throughout his career, MGK originally burst onto the scene as a rapper with his 2012 debut “Lace Up.”
However, since the 2020s, with Travis Barker, he has focused more on pop punk and rock with releases like “Tickets to My Downfall.”
In a glowing five-star review of “GNX,” NME‘s Kyann-Sian Williams wrote: “Lamar channels what can be interpreted as hatred and negativity into a learning moment, compelling you to rely on the purest emotions known to man: love. For a year that began with so much toxicity, Kendrick Lamar provides the antidote with GNX.”
