Empire Partners with Bars to Showcase Cambodian Artists Globally

Empire Expands In Asia

The independent recording label and distributor company Empire is enhancing its footprint in Asia through a long-term partnership with the Baramey Production Cambodian Musical Company.

Empire states that the alliance signifies: “The first time when the Cambodian musical label provided this level of international support” and “Khmer artists in position for global success”.

This announcement comes as Empire celebrates its 15th anniversary, aiming to tap into the burgeoning musical market of Southeast Asia, granting Cambodian artists access to Empire’s extensive global distribution network and industry experience.

Baramey Production, founded in 2016, has developed several artists, including its top star, rapper Vannda, alongside rapper and producer Yuhai, semi-finalist of Cambodia’s Voice Suzan, and breakthrough artist Noret, whose song May Be garnered 28 million views.

Noret and Yuhai are set to perform in Los Angeles on July 12-13.

Vannda, another artist on the roster, has already achieved notable success with his record Khmer Gentlemen / Komlors Srok Khmer, which boasts 104 million views on YouTube, making it the second largest song in Cambodian digital history.

More recently, the founder and CEO of Baramey Production, Laura Mom, described the partnership with Empire as a “game changer.”

“Now, Cambodian music can shine on the world stage, and Empire will assist us in creating careers for artists aiming for international success.”

“This deal will change the game.”

The partnership between Empire and Baramey marks a significant strategic move in Asia, following the appointment of industry leader Jeffrey Yu as senior vice president of East Asia in October. At that time, Empire also signed Korean superstar G-Dragon.

Founded in 2010, Empire, based in San Francisco, has collaborated with notable artists including Kendrick Lamar, Fireboy DML, Shaboozey, Asake, and Anderson .Paak.
