Canadian DJ and producer, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, was scheduled to perform for three and a half hours at the New Quasar stage of the festival on Friday evening (April 18) alongside Zhu.
However, the set was ultimately cut short after Deadmau5 was visibly intoxicated, consuming shots on stage and making slurred comments into the microphone.
Check out some clips from the set shared by fans below, many of whom noted they were still enjoying the performance.

Post-Performance Reflection
On Saturday (April 20), Deadmau5 posted a photo of a water bottle on Instagram, saying: “I don’t remember anything. But I don’t think I had a sig? So … it’s good, I think? Go back to bed. Wake me on Thursday.”
Future Appearances and Career Update
In the comments, he mentioned this might be “probably” his last Coachella appearance. He later shared a photo of his cat, saying: “A man, even my cat is disappointed in me. What can we say? She has always been.”
“Sorry for last night. Lol.” He added, “Honestly, I felt that the first 3/4 was magnificent! A huge shoutout to @zhu for introducing me to whiskey and for my stupid self wrapping it up strong. Let me stop smoking, handle some personal cleanup here at home, find my spiritual animal, work on new music, and come back.”
In other news, Deadmau5 reportedly sealed a massive deal worth $55 million with Create Music Group earlier this year, covering his music catalog of over 4,000 releases. The deal includes both publishing and master recordings from the artist’s catalog, as well as his Mau5Trap label, including interests in future releases from Deadmau5 and the label.
