Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, the Cosmic Tourism company, sent the singer “et” to space on Monday (April 14) with an all-female crew that included television host Gayle King, film producer Keriann Flynn, scientist Aisha Bowe, and Lauren Sánchez.

The trip faced significant backlash, with actress Olivia Munn and model Emily Ratajkowski expressing their disapproval, while Lily Allen referred to the mission as “out of touch,” stating that “there is no damn reason” for it.

Even the fast-food chain Wendy’s joined in on social media, playfully asking if they could “send Katy Perry back to space,” adding: “When we said that women in STEM are not what we had in mind.”

Now, Martha Stewart has also poked fun at the situation. Reminding fans that she experienced zero gravity herself, she shared a video of her time aboard the Boeing 727, known as G-Force One, back in 2007, captioning it: “In case you missed it in 2007, Martha is always ahead of her time.”

Meanwhile, Gayle King commented further on the criticism surrounding the space flight, stating in a recent video: “Of course, I read some things on the Internet from people whom I consider friends. What I would like to say is this: space is not ‘either/or,’ it is ‘both/and,’ and just because you’re doing something in space doesn’t mean you are neglecting things on the ground.”
