Graims’ Social Media Outburst
Graims took to social networks to express her feelings, stating that she was “in rage” and unable to shield herself and her daughter from a pervasive online beauty culture.
Family Dynamics and Criticism
The Canadian artist, whose real name is Claire Bucher, shares three children with the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX: X æ A-XII (aka Lil X), Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, and Techno Mechanicus (aka Tau).
The former couple announced their split in September 2021, confirming their breakup three years later, though they maintain that “they still love each other.” Despite this, the Oblivion artist has increasingly criticized the parent’s choices, particularly after the tech tycoon faced backlash for bringing Lil X into the Oval Office in February.
More recently, she lamented on X/Twitter—acquired by Musk for an astonishing $44 billion in 2022—expressing feelings of being “panting to death in the culture of beauty.” The singer noted that while listening to the “Super Bro Mens Podcast,” which often features “ridiculous incorrect” advertisements, she unexpectedly received one for Sephora beauty products.
The bony of what our culture does with young women, madness. I feel furious, knowing that I can’t protect my daughter from this. What a monumental waste of mental space. All large technological and media companies are accomplices in this.

“Can I go somewhere, where someone doesn’t say: ‘Don’t you want to be beautiful?’” she wrote. “I am radicalized, simply out of pure desire; I don’t want to engage with this sick concept of beauty that follows me like a ghost.”
In a follow-up message, Graims expressed her worries about EXA and the influence of online messaging. “The madness of what our culture does with young women is infuriating,” she stated. “I feel furious, knowing that I can’t protect my daughter from this. What a monumental waste of mental space. All major technological and media companies are accomplices in this.”
While she did not explicitly call out Musk, tension continues between them, with Graims mentioning that she had “begged” him to prevent their children from becoming public figures.
In November of last year, Graims discussed her ongoing custody battle against Musk for their children, expressing, “I have not seen one of my children for five months.” During the summer, her mother, Sandy Garossino, pleaded with Musk to allow her 93-year-old mother to see her great-grandchildren “for the last time” before entering palliative care.
In 2023, Graims filed a lawsuit against Musk for custody rights over Tau, claiming that he had not permitted her to visit him. Musk is known to be the father of 13 children, some of whom were conceived via IVF.
In the meantime, the musician has clarified her position regarding Musk’s controversial gestures during Trump’s presidential inauguration last month.
In other news, Graims shared two previously unreleased demos on SoundCloud: “I am not fucking, I am crazy” and “Fool.”
