A Recent Health Update from Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X shared an update after experiencing partial paralysis on one side of his face.
The rapper was hospitalized earlier this week and took to social media to post a video of himself in a dress, revealing that he had lost “lost control” of the right side of his face.
Progress and Recovery
In a new update about his Instrumental stories, he demonstrated that he has regained some movement on the right side of his face, particularly in the lower half.
While chewing for therapeutic reasons, he remarked, “I chewed a lot so that I could strengthen this muscle,” pointing to his mouth. “This is a lot of oil!”
Although he noted that his left eye still “should play catching up,” he appeared optimistic about his overall improvement. “I can really smile, so it’s good!” he added.
He has not yet disclosed the cause of his partial paralysis, but fans have speculated it may be Bell’s palsy—an idiopathic condition where the exact cause cannot be determined—or Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a neurological issue that can cause facial paralysis along with other symptoms, including temporary hearing loss.
Other musicians who have dealt with Bell’s palsy or Ramsay Hunt syndrome include Justin Bieber, who revealed in 2022 that he had the latter, resulting in partial paralysis on one side of his face for a time. He has since made a full recovery.
LIL NAS X released his EP “Dreamboy Days” last month through Columbia Records. He kicked off the campaign at the end of 2024 with the single “Light Again,” followed by “Dat Boy Needs” in November and “HotBox.”
“Days Before Dreamboy serves as a prelude to Dreamboy, which has not yet received a release date, but is expected to debut sometime this year.
