Solange Noules And Holy Heron are set to present an interdisciplinary series celebrating the Eldorado ballroom in Houston, in collaboration with the performing arts community of Houston.
About the Eldorado Houston Series
The series, titled Eldorado Houston, will feature six programs held at various cultural venues, including Jones Hall, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Historical Ball Hall of Eldorado. Following successful presentations at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2023 and Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles in 2024, this series makes a return to Noules’ hometown.
Program Highlights
The lineup includes “On Dissonance,” showcasing orchestral and opera works by Black women composers such as Julia Perry and Patrice Rush, along with compositions by Noules herself. The Type of Guest will feature experimental performances from Houston’s autumn knight and Dallas native Liv.e, while Paper in My Shoe will highlight Zydeco and folk music with performances by Kara Jackson and Rosie Ledges.
