Billy Nomates Announces New Single and Tour
Billy appoints her new single “Plans” while also announcing an autumn tour in the UK and Europe – get tickets here.
About The New Single and Upcoming Album
“Plans” is the second single from the artist, whose real name is Tor Maries, from the upcoming third album “Metalhorse”.
Maries, who was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, characterizes the hopeful track as “entering the walchers at the end of the world.” She adds, “As I get older and cope with this diagnosis in a chaotic world, the thought of finding joy or love with someone becomes increasingly precious. Even if the world makes no sense sometimes, during this brief two-minute piece, we can have fun.”
This follows the single “Test,” released last month as the lead for “Metalhorse,” which debuted on May 16. Maries will perform four shows in Nottingham, London, Brighton, and Coventry before embarking on a full UK and European tour in September.

The tour kicks off in Bristol, Maries’ hometown, on September 24 and concludes in London on October 9 at the Electric Ballroom. She will then head to mainland Europe starting November 17 with a show in Luxembourg, continuing to France, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands.

“Metalhorse” will follow Maries’ 2023 album “Cacti” and her self-titled debut. This marks her first studio album recorded with a full band as she explores new genres like Blues and Folk.
Maries began working on this project shortly after her father passed away. Reflecting on their bond, she shared, “We were incredibly close, and music was our connection. Even during the difficult times, I would bring new demos or radio recordings to him. It felt like a lifeline; our shared passion was a source of positivity.”
She also described “Metalhorse” as her favorite project to date, noting, “In the time I’ve worked on this album, every month has brought significant changes—some magical, others challenging. What I seek is the balance between the two.”
In 2023, prior to the release of “Cacti,” she told NME: “Anyone who knows me will attest that I feel a lot of pressure.”
