Mariah Carey Celebrates Milestone
Mariah Carey should celebrate the 20th anniversary 'Mimimi Emancipation' with an extended luxurious release through Def Jam Records/Ume.
Special Anniversary Collection Details
The jubilee collection arriving on May 30 includes a limited release of vinyl boxing -5LP -in charge of Carey. This set presents an original album, as well as the tracks from Ultra Platinum Edition, including “Do not forget about us”, “MAKIN”, “this is throughout the night (what he does)”, “Secret Love” and “Sprung”. The collection also includes dance remixes, collaborations, instrumental tools, acapella, and new remixes from Kaitranada and Esentrik.
“I am very glad to celebrate the emancipation of Mimi with this special anniversary reprint,” says Carey. “Working on this publication, I had to survive all the memories from this key moment in my personal and professional life. This album has some of my largest hits today, as well as some personal favorites that are special for me. Forgotten precious stones, unfulfilled bonus tracks, and various remixes with incredible collaborators – all of them are now available in one place for the first time!”
The complex box set includes 45 tracks with the previously unreleased “when I feel it,” originally intended for the album but held back due to processing issues. The collection also features Carey’s 2021 “We belong to each other (Mix Valentina Mimi)” and her performance of the American Musical Award-winning tracks “Do not forget about us”/“We belong together.”
Originally released in 2005, the emancipation of Mimi included collaborations with Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Twista, Nelly, Pharrell Williams, and The Neptunes, alongside James “Big Jim” Wright. The album sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album of Carey’s career and one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century.
The Anniversary Edition will be available in the form of a 5LP Box and a 2LP Deluxe Edition, with a digital Deluxe version also scheduled for release.
