Warner Music Group Appoints New Financial Director
Warner Music Group has appointed a new financial director.
Armin Graze joins WMG as Executive Vice President and Financial Director, effective May 5, and reports to General Director Robert Kincaid.
Graze will succeed Brian Castellani, who previously held the position of EVP and Financial Director at Warner; Castellani joined WMG’s executive team in October 2023.
Experience at Activision Blizzard
Graze recently served in an executive role at gaming giant Activision Blizzard, where he played a significant part in its activities on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange.
Over a decade at Activision Blizzard, he held positions as both Financial Director and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), contributing to the company’s $68.7 billion acquisition by Microsoft, which was finalized in 2023.
In a press release issued today (April 14), Warner stated that Graze is “an important asset in driving sustainable financial performance, complemented by extensive experience in managing complex global operations, ensuring his contribution to the continued success of WMG.”
Statements from Leadership
Robert Kincaid said, “Armin brings 30 years of global experience and a proven track record of delivering exceptional results through operational excellence, commercial innovation, and financial discipline.”
“He will assist us in developing our long-term strategy and enhancing WMG for the enduring benefit of our artists, songwriters, investors, employees, and partners.”
Kincaid also expressed gratitude to Brian for his valuable contributions to WMG. “He has been an outstanding partner and a key player in many significant initiatives, positioning the company for sustainable success. We wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
Armin Graze remarked, “I am thrilled to join WMG, a dynamic and innovative leader in the music industry. I see immense potential in the business and look forward to closely collaborating with Robert and the talented WMG team to achieve their ambitious vision of innovation, growth, and long-term value creation.”
Brian Castellani said, “It has been a rewarding experience contributing to the ongoing evolution of this great company. We have accomplished so much during a pivotal time for the industry. I thank Robert, the board of directors, and everyone at WMG, especially the global finance team.”
Graze joined Activision Blizzard in August 2015, bringing over 20 years of leadership experience from Procter & Gamble, with roles across North America, Europe, and Latin America.
Throughout his time at P&G, he held various financial director roles within multi-billion dollar divisions, including European childcare and Latin America, as well as with the company’s global team and corporate development.
Graze holds a master’s degree in economics and business from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Before joining Warner Music Group in 2023, Brian Castellani spent over two decades at Walt Disney, most recently serving as the Financial Director of Disney Entertainment & ESPN.
