New Music Teaser Released
Today (April 9), Lord shared the teaser of new music after the destruction of her accounts on social networks.
Hints of a New Era
This has been a long time coming, with the first hints of a new era surfacing after the scrub of her social media accounts last August, when the singer of “Royals” wiped her profiles on Instagram and X/Twitter.
Changes in her social media presence occurred after she shared exactly one second of new music last year, publishing several photographs in her Instagram stories while in the studio. In her latest post, she shared a snippet of the new track, which appears to be technology-inspired.
In the caption for the video, Lord mysteriously wrote: “I will return to the connection,” igniting intrigue about the arrival of her long-awaited fourth album.
Today (April 9), she shared a short video on TikTok where she is seen walking in Washington Square Park, New York, listening to a new track featuring the lines: “From the age of 17, I gave you everything/ now we wake up from a dream, well, baby, what was it?/ What was it?”

The initial post has undoubtedly stirred excitement among fans. One commenter noted, “The second coming of Christ,” while another added, “Wait, what?”
Spotify also weighed in, announcing the “Lord – Sloto on us.” Additionally, the musician’s official website has become devoid of content.
Ongoing Speculations
The new teaser follows ongoing speculation that has persisted since 2023, when she also hinted at new music through another ambiguous Instagram post.
Rumors about this new era intensified following her performance at Aya 2023, with NME reporting that the new set was notably more minimalistic than the solar themes of her previous era.
“This seems more suited for clubbing and witch-like consequences than for a beach outing. To invoke a recent meme, this Lord appears more Oppenheimer than Barbie.
She also assured fans that she would reveal something new, stating last year: “No, this is not the beginning of something, I just want you to know that there is light inside me … and I’ll show it to you soon.”
It’s worth noting that the artist has released a new album every four years, beginning with 2017’s Melodrama, followed by Pure Heroine, and most recently, Solar Power in 2021.
Earlier this year, she collaborated with Marlon Williams on “Cacher,” expressing that the collaboration was “one of my favorite experiences on Earth.”
