The singer-songwriter made an appearance in the latest edition of the “caps” segment in an episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on April 8.
Shiran and Fallon shot a session at the metro station of 50th Street under the Rockefeller Center in New York. The duo disguised themselves in emo fashion, donning black clothing, wigs, sunglasses, hats, and piercings.
“No one knows that this will happen, no one knows that this is Ed Shiran,” Fallon mentioned before introducing the duet as “brother’s poison.” Shiran then began his acoustic rendition of Chappella Roan’s hit “Pink Pony Club” in front of an audience of fans at the platform.
After finishing the cover, Shiran and Fallon revealed their true identities to the crowd, leading into the debut of “Azizam.”
The pop star shared a selfie of her emo alter ego on Instagram, stating: “In fact, there was such a photo of Myspace, how it was when I was 14 years old.” See this post and catch the full metro performance below.

Last week in London, Shiran stunned fans with a pop-up acoustic set at King’s Cross station and a pink open-top bus in the capital. “I enjoyed seeing all the reactions from people on the street, turning to ‘Azizam,’” he mentioned.
Shiran described his new album “Play” as “playful and cheerful.” The record will follow his 2023 releases “Subtract” and “Autumn Variations.” He indicated that he “will boldly enter a new phase in 2025” by collaborating with producers and writers from around the globe for this project.
Shiran revealed that his new LP was “finished” last month. He also introduced a new track titled “Old Telephone” during his Fallon appearance. In the interview, he confirmed the names of his next five studio albums and hinted at plans for a posthumous album.
“I aimed to create 10 albums,” he explained. “I’m a bit obsessed with Quentin Tarantino, who plans to make 10 films, and he has his own side projects, like Grindhouse. I want to create my 10 albums and then occasionally pursue side projects.”
In other news, Shiran teased that a new track called “Sapphire” will debut in the coming months.
Additionally, it was announced that Shiran will perform an intimate set at Coachella 2025 next weekend.
Shiran also responded to a TikTok critic who remarked: “His songs are as good as heroin is for people.”
