Carpenter Joins Fortnite Festival Season 8
Popstar and two-time Grammy winner Sabrina Carpenter was announced as an “icon” for Epic Games’ Fortnite Festival Season 8.
The season starts on Tuesday (April 8). Players will have the opportunity to unlock the carpenter Juno and Nonsense jam tracks via Music Pass 8 Season, along with access to a wider selection of tracks in the store.
Exciting Collaborations and Unlockables
Carpenter joins other artists represented as “badges” in Fortnite, including The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Metallica. This collaboration arrives as Sabrina Carpenter enjoys breakthrough success, highlighted by her recent Grammy wins and a line on the charts.
Espresso, from the Carpenter album 2024 Short and Sweet, received the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. The track has surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify. Another song from the album, Please, Please, Please, has also accumulated 1.4 billion streams on the platform.
Players can access the content themed around Sabrina in Fortnite for the price of 1400 V-Bucks, unlocking the Juno and Nonsense tracks along with the Sabrina Carpenter outfit featuring a Babydoll yellow suit inspired by her recent tour. This epic collaboration includes celebrity stylist Jared Ellner and jewelry brand Maison Raksha for a digital experience.
For fans, additional Carpenter content is available in the Fortnite store, including a tour-ready Sabrina Carpenter outfit with multiple styles and emotes set to her songs Taste and Please, Please.
The SC SC SC guitar inspired by Sabrina Carpenter can also be unlocked in PACE, allowing fans to choose a red blush style or another shiny SC guitar as a premium reward.
New Features and Enhancements
Alongside the integration of Sabrina Carpenter, Season 8 introduces several other features in the Fortnite Festival. Players can now queue up to four loops simultaneously while walking with friends. Epic Games has also enhanced audiovisual settings and added support for multiple sound configurations.
A new social feature enables players to form groups based on their favorite outfits.
For content creators, Epic Games is offering a seven-day window at the start of Season 8 to monetize videos featuring Sabrina Carpenter’s songs, provided their YouTube and Support-Creator accounts are linked. Epic has stated, “No takedown notices should occur during or after seven days.”
In 2023, Epic Games announced that creators of relevant “islands” in Fortnite will earn a share of the revenue based on interactions with their published content. Under the new Creator Economy 2.0 program, EPIC will allocate 40% of the gross revenue from Fortnite goods and associated real-money purchases to engagement pools.
Fortnite provides artists with innovative ways to connect with and support their fanbase. As discussed in an MBW article from 2018, the online game offers music fans new avenues to engage with their favorite musicians.
In December 2024, Fortnite attracted 14.3 million simultaneous players for its virtual concert “Remix: The Finale,” featuring performances from Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, Eminem, and a posthumous tribute to Juice WRLD. This attendance exceeded the previous record of 12.3 million set during a concert by Travis Scott in 2020.
It also surpassed records established by Snoop Dogg & Ice Spice during their Times Square event last year, as well as the Big Bang event featuring Eminem in 2023 and Dr. Dre‘s battle in 2024.
