About the Remix
The release features a revamped version of the track, which was initially unveiled shortly after the debut album launch of the WoF group. In the New Mix, Towerblock1, also known as Jimmy Cauty, KLF, adds a unique twist to the single, transforming it into a more inspired anthem.
It includes a memorable line from Fat Dog frontman Joe Love, who proclaims: “”When the war is over,” amidst a children’s choir and distant dog barking.
The new version, titled “Riot in Sydenham Bus Depot Remix,” adopts a more chaotic and intriguing tone. This is achieved through the integration of jungle beats, police sirens, and Elvis-referencing elements. It encapsulates the anarchistic feeling of an unpredictable night while incorporating references to race.
Music Video and Release Information
Check it out below, accompanied by a music video creatively crafted by Evan Loweus and 3-D modeling from Luke Davlianidze. The visuals feature the same character from the original video of “The World of the Song,” which was shot on the streets of southeast London.
The 12-inch release from the World Song and Remix Towerblock1 is available for pre-order and is set to be released on August 15th.

Last year, Gauf. received a glowing five-star review from NME, praised as “a reckless and hoarse debut album, charged with adrenaline.”
“From the very start, it’s clear that this is not a group that needs to be taken lightly, especially with the drummer Johnny ‘Doghead’ and the frontman in a Latex dog mask,” they noted. “Notably, they took on the challenge, crafting a complex, at times discontented, post-punk experience, which I find increasingly dull these days.”
“Grasp the lyrics and dive into the essence of Fat Dog, because ‘Gal’ is fresh and devoid of unnecessary frills—exactly what the world needs right now.”
In anticipation of the release, the group spoke with NME for a cover story, where keyboardist Chris Hughes highlighted what sets them apart from other emerging artists.
“What we have as a band is something special. I hear feedback from friends in other groups, and there seems to be a constant tension elsewhere,” he shared. “Sometimes we have these moments on stage where we lock eyes and silently agree that we’re putting on an exceptional concert. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Later this year, Fat Dog has several live performances lined up across the UK and Europe. They were previously confirmed as part of the first wave of names for the 2025 Icelandic music festival.
Other performances include slots at Wide AWAKE, Green Man, Radio 1 Big Weekend, an opening concert at Rock-n-Roll Circus in Sheffield 2025, alongside Stone Age, and a headlining spot at Troxy in London. Visit tickets here
