Incredible Footage of the Banksy Team in Action Filmed in Margate

Rare Video Footage of Banksy Team at Work

Rare videos featuring the Banksy team creating their artistic masterpieces have been captured.

This moment was recorded by a local resident after the installation of the “Valentine’s Day” carcass in Margate. The video shows a group of artists engaging with passersby, including footage shot by a mother who was showing her child how to use a drone with one of the artists.

Significance of the Footage

The woman did not realize the importance of her recording, but it is now being showcased as part of the second season of BBC Radio 4’s Banksy History: When Banksy Comes to the City, which aims to provide unique insights into the enigmatic street artist. You can listen to the audio The Story of Banksy available now, while the footage of his team at work is set to be released later today (April 6).

Artist Identity and Recent Revelations

It is believed that the easel and paints belong to Peter Brown, who was also a participant in the simultaneous art pieces during the “Valentine’s Day” installation, which featured people flocking to see the latest Banksy work.

The “Valentine’s Day” piece is currently for sale, and a portion of the profits will be donated to a local charity focused on domestic violence.

The true identity of Banksy remains a closely guarded secret, with many theories circulating since he rose to fame in the early 2000s, including speculation involving Robert del Naja from Massive Attack and Jamie Hewlett from Gorillaz.

However, a long-lost interview with the BBC from 2003 has surfaced, providing new insights. In this unreleased recording, Banksy appears to confirm that his name is Robbie.

In the original interview, Banksy spoke with former BBC Arts correspondent Nigel Wrench during his Turf War exhibition. During the interview, a recent piece in the Independent mentions his name as Robert Banks, to which he responds, “This is Robbie.”
