Shine’s New Single
Shine has released a fresh single titled '23 – child ' from their forthcoming album “If You Ask for a Picture.”
About the Track and Video
The single comes accompanied by a video directed by Yazz Jansen, featuring what the artist describes as the most pop-centric chorus to date, enriched with the harmonious sounds of girl groups. The visuals draw inspiration from the Disneyland Instagram feed.
“The song explores the challenges of being in your twenties, grappling with the expectation that you should have everything figured out (after all, your parents had children at this age!). But in reality, you’re still navigating through the confusion of self-discovery,” Sabrina Teitelbaum shares. “I aimed for a whimsical touch reminiscent of children’s rhymes. Given the intensity of the subject, it was crucial to inject some fun into the process.”
The album “If You Asked for a Picture” follows the 2023 project by Blondshell and is produced by Yves Rotman. The album’s title references a 1986 poem by Mary Oliver called “Dogfish.” Teitelbaum emphasizes, “There’s a line in the poem that resonates with me: ‘I do not need to tell you everything that I went through. This is just another story about someone trying to survive.’”
