Meanwhile, Hammett mentioned he has written 767 riffs for the upcoming Metallica album, although he does not anticipate the band working on it “for at least another year.”

He discussed the potential sound of the new record, stating, “Who knows? We could just say, ‘Okay, let’s go back to the nineties.’ That wouldn’t be a bad idea!” He added that the band has not finalized anything yet, which makes it an intriguing prospect. “Reloaded had a mixed reaction back in the day, but nowadays, I find that fans really love that era.”

Additionally, Metallica has announced details about an exciting new concert VR film, developed in collaboration with Apple Vision Pro, as well as their participation in a tribute performance for the final Black Sabbath show in Birmingham this July.
